Great Allegheny Passage

This 150-mile system that currently runs from Cumberland, MD to Duquesne, PA will take a biker all the way to Pittsburgh, PA once completed. The trail has a packed limestone surface for a smooth ride. Built mainly on abandoned rail beds, the trail is nearly level with an average grade of less than 1%. In winter, throw on a pair of cross-country skis or snowshoes and see parts of the Passage in a whole new light. In warm-weather months, the Great Allegheny Passage is an ideal destination for bikers, hikers, and the occasional wanderer.
