November Stable Update

Nov 07,2020

As the Thoroughbred season comes to a close this weekend, we do have a few claims that we would like to share. On Friday, October 30, both Pacioretty and Whoop It Up were claimed from the Century Horse Racing Club. This means that both horses were purchased by a new owner, and will no longer be a part of the Club. Pacioretty and Whoop It Up have had successful careers so far and have caught the interest of a few other owners and trainers this season. Pacioretty will be moving over to the Carson Frey barn, while Whoop It Up will be with owner/trainer Darren Haner. We wish their new owners the best of luck and hope to see them back in action next year!

It is important to note that while this may come as a surprise, this is a very common part of the horse racing industry, and claims can happen at any time throughout the season. The main purpose of a claiming race is to keep the races fair and equal for the horses, jockeys and bettors. We are fortunate to have had a full season with both Pacioretty and Whoopy and have enjoyed cheering them on with you! If you have any questions in regard to these claims, please let us know at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as we can!

We also would like to wish Bold N Sporty the best of luck as she has also been purchased while at Century Downs. Sporty will now be owned by Thomas Miller, who has driven her a few times this season and thought very highly of her. She will likely continue racing this season with Thomas, so we encourage you to still cheer her on if you see her at the track!

While we will be looking into a replacement to fill this spot in our barn, the process of purchasing a racehorse is not one to rush into. Our team will be weighing the options and looking for the perfect fit for the Century Horse Racing Club, however we cannot guarantee that we will find a replacement this year. We will be sure to share any updates in the coming weeks and we appreciate your patience and understanding in the matter. This is all part of the racehorse ownership experience, so we encourage you to ask any questions about this process to help better understand the situation.
