Play of the Day - Race 3
2 BACKSTREET BOBBY (M/L Odds 7/5) had an adventuresome trip back on October 8. He was squeezed out leaving the gate, bore out in the first turn, and found himself at the back of the pack most of the way. He put in a decent late rally in the CTHS Sales Stake, ending up a closing fourth won by Manitoba invader LANGARA going 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.4. The three-year-old altered son of BIG E E - LEMEL will enjoy some class relief by taking on a small allowance field for horses who never won two races today. He will reunite with top jock Rico Walcott who guided him to his MDN victory two starts ago. The Rod Heggie trainee may also relish the extra going in here.
3 STORMCHASER drops out of the very same race and could have theft on the brain and will be a forward factor.

Play of the Day - Race 10
7 VENETIAN MASK (M/L Odds 5-2) invades from BC to tackle a very talented group of Alberta foes in the much anticipated Harvest Plate Stake with a purse of $100,000. He has been tangling with tough stakes types on the west coast, grinding out a respectable 7-1-2-3 record good for just under $56,000 in earnings this year. He has amassed just over $141,000 in lifetime earnings. His sire, PULPIT, was an outstanding multiple stake winning horse earning just under $730,000 in lifetime earnings. His dam, MOLTO VITA, was a graded-stakes sprinting specialist winning $576,000 in lifetime earnings. In the 2016 Premiers (G3) stake at Hastings Park in BC, the six-year-old Kentucky-bred was sent off at 30-1 only to get beaten by a head to repeat winner KILLIN ME SMALLS. Quincy Welch has been assigned the riding duties with trainer Jerri Robertson taking care of VENETIAN MASK for his Alberta visit in the absence of regular trainer, Mike Anderson.
Among the many storylines for this race, 4 PRIVATE MONEY GAME looked good winning the prep for this race back on September 23. 6 HEMLOCK CHANNEL from the Tracy barn, set a record for 6 1/2 furlongs up in Edmonton this summer. 1 KILLIN ME SMALLS is back home from BC after a disappointing last place finish in this year’s G3 Premiers Stake but cuts back in distance today. Enjoy the race!
