Play of the Day - Race 9
7 WATER WAGON (M/L Odds 5/2) is sitting on a tilt. He gave our “Play” and winner ZIPPITY ZAP a huge scare last Sunday in the Alberta Breeders’ stake on Alberta Breeders’ Fall Classic day, by charging late only to be beaten at the wire by a scant nose. Two races ago, he won a $17,500 Claiming race only to be disqualified making BUD TIME the eventual winner that day and a foe he meets again in here today. The off-the-pace sort should have some pace to chase. The six-year-old altered son of DIVINE PARK will be looking for his first win of 2018. He wheels right back into action off five days rest (which is a bit of concern), but shortens up a bit in distance and gets regular jockey, Dane Nelson calling the shots for the Dale Saunders barn.

Play of the Day - Race 2
2 ANSTRUM (M/L Odds 8/5) has been in the money in her last four starts facing tough stakes competition. She faces a small field today, and sports a bullet work for 5F (1:01.60) back on September 15. The Monica Russell trainee has two place finishes in two starts over this track and gets the services of regular jockey Rigo Sarmiento. ANSTRUM was voted the 2017 Alberta Champion Three-Year-Old Filly.
