Coming up at Century Downs we’ve got a bunch of events planned to keep everyone busy on the weekend. Whether you’re at the racetrack every weekend, or you’ve never been, these events welcome everyone!
Firstly we have the Mother’s Day Brunch. Every year this event is popular, and this year is no different. Spoil your mom with the gift of time and enjoy a delicious buffet from 10AM to 1PM in the Homestretch Room, located on the second floor of the casino. This space is welcome to all ages, so bring the family to spoil mom on her special day. Every mom will receive a free carnation, just for spending the day with us!
Menu items include: Fresh baked muffins, Danishes, croissants and pastries, a seasonal fruit platter, cheese board, Caprese salad, smoked salmon mouse in tomato cone, Caesar salad, made-to-order egg station, salmon benedict with chive hollandaise, baked Italian sausage ravioli and more!
The buffet prices are as follows: $35 for non-Winners’ Zone members, $32 for Winners’ Zone members, $24 for ages 13-17, $13.50 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.
After brunch, stay for an exciting day at the races! Join us on the Apron to watch your favourite drivers race down our track. Enjoy music between races with a live DJ from Crossfade Inc. and take a photo with mom in their photo booth! Look out for Post-time Pete, as he will be making an appearance from 1PM to 4PM!
The Alberta Standardbred Horse Association (ASHA) will reveal the winner of their Name that Foal contest! Throughout Alberta kids aged 8 and under, and aged 9-16 have been submitting entries to name the 2017 Meridian Farms’ new foal.

Last, but not least, we have the 142nd Annual Preakness Stakes. Join us in our Off-Track Betting area on May 20th where you can watch all of the excitement go down! Century Downs will be opening early at 8AM.
Watch the confirmed contenders race down the track: ALWAYS DREAMING, CLASSIC EMPIRE, CLOUD COMPUTING, CONQUEST MO MONEY, GUNNEVERA, HENCE, MULTIPLIER, ROYAL MO, SENIOR INVESTMENT and TERM OF ART. Keep an eye out for ALWAYS DREAMING, who took the Kentucky Derby by two lengths over LOOKIN AT LEE.
Get a taste of the Thoroughbreds before they arrive here at Century Downs at the first scheduled race date: Saturday, September 23rd with a 12:50PM post time.
