At Century Downs Racetrack and Casino, we believe in being good neighbors. This means, in addition to donating funds and support services to community groups, we also encourage our employees to be actively involved in the communities in which we operate.
Donation Requests
At Century Downs Racetrack and Casino we are committed to helping our neighbors. We make a difference in our community in a variety of ways, including financial and in-kind donations, as well as volunteer hours.
If you would like to request volunteers, a donation for your non-profit organization, or to host an event at Century Downs Racetrack and Casino, please fill out our Donation Request Form.
Requests must include the name and date(s) of the event, the type of donation you are seeking, and contact information. Donation requests must be received at least 30 days prior to event date. Please allow up to 14 days for a response. Please note that we are located just outside of Calgary, AB.
Make a Wish Weihnachtsmarkt
We raised $3907.93 to help support The Make A Wish Foundation. The funds raised will go a long way in their mission to fulfill the wishes of children diagnosed with critical illnesses. They aim to bring hope, joy, and strength to these children and their families by granting them experiences that provide moments of happiness and positivity during challenging times. It's a wonderful organization that relies on donations and volunteers to make these heartfelt wishes come true.
HRA Backstretch Foundation
The HRA Backstretch Foundation is a charitable organization that supports the well-being of individuals working in the backstretch of horse racing tracks in Alberta. These workers include grooms, trainers, exercise riders, and other essential staff who care for racehorses.
It plays a crucial role in ensuring the people behind the scenes in horse racing receive the help and recognition they deserve.
Adopt A Family
Annually, the staff at Century Downs raises money to support a family in need in our community; this year the staff were excited to wrap up the gifts for a young family in our area to make sure Christmas 2024 was a little bit brighter.
Stars Fundraiser
In July, every time a FUN FOR FANS horse raced, 75% of their net monthly winnings went toward supporting Stars in providing critical care for patients in need. We were thrilled to present them with a donation of $7,005, making a real difference for those who rely on their life-saving services.
Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser
Our annual golf tournament raised $6,976 for the Lionheart Foundation. Presenting the cheque to Lionheart Executive Director Jamilah Edwards is Century Downs General Manager Jackie Morrison
Mental Health Month Fundraiser
Our Mental Health Day event, held during Mental Health Month generated over $5416.00 for the LionHeart Foundation through the sale of blue ribbons, a silent auction and donations from the Drivers and fans. Presenting the Cheque to Lionheart Executive Director Jamilah Edwards is Century Downs General Manager Jackie Morrison and ASHA’s Fred Gillis.
Veterans Food Bank Donations
$1,300 was raised from the Libations fest in the summer and then four full boxes of food were collected throughout the entire month of November to support the Veterans
